VIDEO: MERC80.COM Interview The Foreign Exchange’s Director Of Operations Aimee Flint

06/10/2010

The Foreign Exchange are going from strength to strength, their debut album Connected is seen as an underground hip-hop classic, Leave It All Behind saw them breakout and gain a Grammy nod, and now in less than a weeks time they are due to release their 3rd album, Authenticity.

The Foreign Exchange can definitely be seen as flying the flag for not only indie artists, but also indie labels after establishing +FE Music to release their material and the material of like minded souls such as YahZarah and Zo!. All of this has happened relatively quickly since the release of LIAB in 2008, and it undoubtedly takes extremely hard work, motivation and organisation. MERC80.COM took time out to speak to Aimee Flint, +FE’s ‘Director Of Operations’ and one of the main driving forces behind the FE brand (she is also Nicolay’s wife). Peep the interview above, it’s a fascinating insight into the workings of an indie label and those who work in the background to ensure we get to hear the music in the first we love.
