VIDEO: Alice Russell Live @ Union Chapel

02/08/2010

Earlier this year Alice Russell played two shows at London’s Union Chapel. Billed as an intimate, stripped back performance of some of her best tracks this was one gig I’m really gutted that I missed out on. However, thanks to Steve Glashier we can all experience a little bit of the show (huge thanks to Amelia for heads up on these clips).

Alice’s rendition of ‘Crazy’ has always been an attention-grabber, but in this stripped back, acoustic format she really makes the song her own. Great to see Sharlene Hector on BV’s and, I may be mistaken, but I’m sure that’s Stac leading the choir.

‘Mirror Mirror’ is one of my favourite songs from Alice. I’ve only seen her perform live once and unfortunately she didn’t sing this so it’s great to hear it here.

I’m hoping that the full concert was recorded and that we’ll get a live album release soon.
