On The Late Bus: Fatima

I’m annoyed with myself for overlooking this great little EP from Fatima. I’ve been familiar with her through previous collaborations, so when I heard she was releasing her debut EP Mindtravellin’ I made a mental note to check it out when it dropped.

A couple of months on and now i’m only just getting round to it, despite several reminders from a couple of blogs I visit almost daily. However, as they say, better late than never!

The 4 track EP see’s Fatima’s vocals bumping along on productions from Floating Points (who are EVERYWHERE at the moment) and Dam-Funk which showcase why Fatima is fast-becoming one of the go-to vocalists for the new wave of nu-soul/funk/boogie/house producers.

For me the standout track is the bright and breezy soul of ‘Warm Eyes’ feat. Dam-Funk. I cannot stop playing this track, it’s just perfect for the heatwave we’re currently experiencing here in the UK.
