Summer Has Arrived Early Courtesy of Sunlightsquare

I know I’m fed up with the cold, miserable, damp weather we have been experiencing lately, and I bet that the majority of you reading this are feeling just the same. Well help is at hand, in the form of Sunlightsquare and their new Latin Combo project. The London-based collective are well known for their fusion of soul, jazz, latin, funk and salsa and have two acclaimed albums already under their belt, 2006’s Urban Session and 2009’s Urban Latin Soul. 2010 will see the release of their latest project Havana Central, which, as the title suggests, will focus on more cuban/latin grooves.

The first single off the project is a sun-drenched, summer-ready cover of The Jackson Sisters hit ‘I Believe In Miracles’. No stranger to covering classics (they have previously recorded versions of Stevie’s ‘Pastime Paradise’ and EW&F’s ‘Let’s Groove’) the band manage to stay true to the original whilst injecting some much welcomed latin heat.

Sit back, relax …. and imagine it’s summer already!

The single will be released on March 1st via Sunlightsquare Records UK.
