Download: ‘Best Of British (Part 1)’
I’ve enjoyed compiling my previous efforts, and they seem to have gone down fairly well so i thought i’d give it another go.
This time rather than inclusing random tracks that i like i have decided to focus on British artists. This is intended to be Part 1 of 2 (possibly 3) but i’ll see ….
The choices here are completely personal and by no means a definitive list of UK soul-singers.
The mix includes the ‘king’ and ‘queen’ of Brit-Soul, Omar and Beverley Knight, soul favourites Reel People and Incognito, rising stars Anthoney Wright and Tawiah, and soul-sensation-turned-tabloid-terror Amy Winehouse (with, in my opinion, a brilliant version of ‘Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow’).
Enjoy!

!!!!!
There’s nothing like THIS.
I must say though I know you getting sophisticated with your mixin and thangs but would love it if you posted the unmixed version too (like Stylus does on his latest post). I can tell there are some of these songs I’m gonna want to keep coming back to.
Lol, i wouldn’t go as far as sophisticated!
I’ll put up links for the un-mixed files next week. Glad you like the mix.
I agree with you regarding Amy’s version of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” – it’s SPLENDID! Can’t wait to download!
And I have to agree with my girl Vivrant – oooo weee on that Omar track. The BEST one out of his discography to date!! Well for me anyway…lol
Great listing!
@ThaConnoisseur – The Omar track is also one of my (many) favourites by him.
I remember first hearing Amy’s version of ‘Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow’ and it stopped me in my tracks … her voice is perfect for this song!
Great mix! Omar has been a favourite of mines for years, I’m glad to see his name popping up in blogs more often!
