What’s New: On My iPod!

02/04/2009

Im off for a weekend away with some friends to celebrate a couple of our upcoming birthdays. Before i go i thought i would share what’s been in heavy rotation on my iPod this week:

  • First up, this week has been a significant one for soul music lovers. It has been the anniversary of Marvin Gaye’s birth and his death. Over on Twitter there has been some discussion as to what are your favourite Marvin songs, here are a couple of mine.

Marvin Gaye – ‘You’

Marvin Gaye & Tami Terrell – ‘If This World Were Mine’

  • I’ve had Deborah Cox’s ‘Destination Moon’ on my iPod for a while now, and regularly revisit it. The album is a tribute to the songs of Dinah Washington, two of my favourite cuts below.

Deborah Cox – ‘What A Difference A Day Made’

Deborah Cox – ‘I Don’t Hurt Anymore’

  • I recently got my hands on the debut album of up-and-coming UK soul singer Anthoney Wright. The album has not received much in the way of promotion and 2 singles have gone virtually unnoticed which is a shame as the guy has talent.

Anthoney Wright – ‘Reset To Zero’

Anthoney Wright – ‘Barricades’
